CURRENT ECONOMIC CONDITIONS ARE LOOKING BLEAK, ACCORDING TO MOST EXPERTS
The majority of experts, 23 out of 42 (55%), agree that current economic conditions have worsened compared to three months ago. Seven experts believe the situation is much worse, while 11 experts consider it stagnant, and only one expert sees an improvement. With an average confidence interval of 7.71 points, the results highlight a generally bleak view of Indonesia’s economic situation, as observed by economic experts.
About this Survey:
This independent survey conducted by LPEM FEB UI seeks to capture expert insights on Indonesia’s economic landscape, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to informed policy discussions and the country’s future development. The survey focuses on experts’ perceptions of current economic and social conditions, as well as policy developments, by comparing these with previous periods and assessing future expectations.
The survey was conducted online from February 14, 2025, to February 24, 2025. The sample consisted of 42 economic experts from diverse backgrounds, including academia, research institutions, think tanks, the private sector, and multinational organizations. The respondents represent a wide range of domestic and international perspectives, coming from regions across Indonesia, such as West Java, Jakarta, West Nusa Tenggara, East Kalimantan, East Java, Yogyakarta, and Central Java, as well as from Australia, the UK, and the USA.
